A New Business For The Unemployed

If you are victim of the downsizing craze that is going on you may be considering starting a business for yourself. I have been laid-off for a while now and since I am over 50 no employer wants to talk to me at all.

After several rejections I looked into getting my own business. There is a lot more to having a business than you would know unless you are considering one for yourself. For example: There are several expenses before you even make a penny from your business so you more than likely either deplete your savings or go into the red right off the bat. Some of the expenses to think about are:

1) Insurance
2) Government inspectors
3) Government fees
4) Rent
5) Inventory or machinery
6) Employees and workman’s comp insurance for them.
7) Taxes

And the list goes on.

The type of business that I was considering was an auto restoration and re-sale business. The idea would be to get old cars in need of some work and fix them and sell them for a profit. Having worked for a car dealership shortly after I was laid-off I knew there was a lot of demand for a good, inexpensive used car, but the expenses of running a business to provide the cars was too risky for me.

My next attempt at owning my own business has been a little more successful. I found a network marketing company that has a really unique product line and I get paid just to promote their product to others. With this type of business there is really no risk of losing money at all since I use nutritional products myself I just buy what I need every month to maintain my membership. So since I was going to buy the products anyway this is proving to be a great opportunity for me.

Often you hear in the news about troops returning home from overseas not being able to find decent jobs when they return. Some of them would be a natural for a network marketing opportunity. They could build a serious business and have a respectable monthly check to do whatever they wanted with.

So if you are one of us, the unemployed and laid-off, but too young to retire before you spend all of your money on a regular business with all of its risk check out network marketing and give it a try.
